The best web tools 2017

There are so many different web tools to help your business flourish, we’ve hand picked some of our favourites that we use on a daily basis…

InVision

InVision is a prototyping tool that allows us to transform static designs into clickable, interactive prototypes. This gives our clients the closest possible impression of what the website will look and feel like in the browser before any coding is done. InVision also tracks any changes in the project and allows you to save your assets like fonts and imagery in one area – perfect for handover to a developer.

Asana

An excellent project management tool and app that helps teams get organised with project folders, assigned tasks and other essential features to get a project from A to Z. You can divide your tasks and stages between team members and make sure all tasks are assigned with dates and priority flags. We have adapted the Asana workflow to work for our team whereby our process can be efficiently adopted by anyone in the team. Not only does it provide powerful insight and transparency across departments but it’s also totally free.

Toggl

We use toggl to keep up our projects on track, on time and within budget. With a simple user interface for reporting your timesheet it is easy to manage and easy to get the whole team tracking their tasks. It also has a google chrome app to integrate with Asana.

Hotjar

Hotjar is a tool that runs in the background revealing the online behaviour and journeys of your users from when the arrive on your website to when they leave. Rather than just data you can see visual heat-maps and get direct feedback from your potential customers. With an approach of both analysis and feedback tools, Hotjar gives you the ‘big picture’ of how to improve your website’s user experience and performance (conversion rates).

Mailchimp

Mailchimp is a free email marketing platform that gives you powerful insights into your email lists. You’ll get to understand your audience better through analysing click rates and A/B testing email campaigns. At slate we will set you up with a template that is on brand and that you can reuse time and again for different campaigns to keep your audience up to date with your brand.
